How to handle Covid-19 as a business owner

We've had to get really real about how Covid-19 has, and will continue to affect our businesses. I have always been a big believer that multiple streams of income aren't just nice to have - they are necessary. We have structured our businesses so that if one income stream went away - we would be fine - but what about when 3 out of 4 of them go away due to these unforeseen circumstances? That was something we didn't plan for. ⁣

Louis and I own 4 businesses, 2 of them are closed right now, 1 of them has been downsized and the other is a new venture. Instead of freaking out about all of the things that could happen - we decided to focus on what we can control. ⁣

As entrepreneurs we have been able to earn an income from home by sharing the knowledge and skills we posses. We have had to pivot from our norm in order to provide services that are necessary to our clients during this time.⁣

Louis has taken his offline business online, and has been providing live online fitness classes for his gym members and anyone who wants to join a community so they can stay social and active. I have taken on social media management clients because so many business owners are realizing the importance of social media during this time. These weren't the services we planned to offer, but they are the services that are needed right now, and we are more than happy to step up, help out, and we are so thankful for those who have invested in us, so that we can invest back into our businesses that are at a standstill with zero revenue.⁣

People will say the world is on pause, nobody is buying, money is tight - but if you can look at what is going on, identify the problems and figure out how to solve them - you will come out of this even stronger than before. You may have to step outside of what you normally do, you will have to educate yourself and learn new skills, and you will have to roll with the punches of not knowing what will happen tomorrow, next week, or next month – but that’s what makes you an incredible entrepreneur! You are ready, resourceful, resilient, and you’ve got this!
